Alaska: The Last Frontier fans are still reeling from the shocking news laid out to them about the Kilcher family.
The news was that of a divorce between Atz Lee Kilcher and Jane Kilcher, which hit us like a freight train out of the blue. Jane Kilcher casually broke the news to fans in her most recent Facebook post on July 23, 2023, alongside a selfie of herself.”Here we go. Atz Lee is divorcing me, and it is very unfortunate, but I cannot control it. Lost my best friend and it hurts, but I guess that is life. It won’t stop me,” she wrote followed by a heart emoji leaving fans stunned and confused.
She hasn’t followed up on any newer posts since, so fans obviously are left desperate for an update.
Sadly, her husband and soon-to-be ex-husband, Atz Lee Kilcher, isn’t even as active as Jane on social media, so we pretty much don’t have any hope of getting an update from him. His last post on Instagram was way back in early July when he posted a picture of a “Forget me not” plant, as he also revealed in the comments. People may also know the flower by its other name, Scorpion grass, or by its scientific name, Myosotis. The very tragic name of the flower had some of his followers thinking whether Atz Lee made the post with his divorce in mind that I may have been contemplating or already putting into action without the public knowledge.
With no other ways to reach him, fans took to the comment section of his post to support him through the big decision.”I know you never reply to specific unknowns. Don’t blame you. But just to say, if it’s true, I am so sorry to hear this. You have such an amazing life yes, it’s hard work and weather, but I am sure it’s not on a whim. But it’s sad stay strong, sending hugs,” one fan wrote. Another fan even rudely just asked, “Why are you leaving Jane?” but don’t worry; a couple of his other fans gave them a piece of their mind for the commenter’s rude directness.
A Google search does reveal that the flower’s tragic name comes from a tragic German legend about a knight who died trying to get the flower for his lover but, before dying, screamed out the words, “Forget me not!” to his lover.
Today, they’ve also been a symbol for Alzheimer’s disease after being used by a foundation in the Netherlands.
So, we can understand if some fans will associate Atz Lee’s post directed at Jane, but the Forget-me-nots is the official state flower of Alaska, so we wouldn’t shoot that far as well. Going back to Jane’s post, she has been flooded with messages of support.
While some simply wish her and sometimes even Atz Lee well, a lot of them are telling her good riddance, saying she is better off without him.”I’m sure at least some part of you will always love him, but I always thought he was a little strange. I’ve always believed you were a strong, confident woman that was carrying the relationship. You’re strong and will navigate your way through this and come out the other side even stronger!” one of such comments reads. Hopefully, they will share some more news to give us closure as soon as they have their own.
