In May 2005, McCarthy went on the public with the news that her son Evan was autistic. In 2007, Jenny announced that Evan had been diagnosed with autism after about seizures. However, she was able to treat Evan through alternative methods. She also claimed that her son’s autism was linked to Measles/Mumps/ Rubella vaccination and began a public crusade against vaccines.
